5 Year Patrol Award

Criteria For Award

The inaugural 5 year patrol service award was implemented during season 2004-05, after it was given support and approval by the Management Committee. The award is given as a token of appreciation to thank the selfless work undertaken by our club members, who perform the iconic role of the volunteer Australian Surf Lifesaver. The award is in recognition of a Long Reef SLSC club member who has displayed vigilance on patrol helping to maintain a safe swimming environment, performing voluntary community service on patrols at Long Reef SLSC for 5 years or greater.

Patrol service may be either continuous or non-continuous patrolling duties at Long Reef Beach from the issue of the members Bronze Medallion. The member must for each years service to count, have been a fully financial and proficient member and have performed their rostered patrol hours.

New 5 Year Patrol Awards will be issued each year annually at the annual awards dinner and are to be presented by a Life Member of the Club or a special guest of honour.

I congratulate each and every member who achieves such an award. It is certainly a significant achievement to have given your personal time to come to the aid of others and assist in keeping our beach and its users safe. On behalf of Long Reef SLSC I thank you for your contributions and can only hope that you will remain with the club as a lifesaver for many years to come.
