Introduction

Long Reef Surf Club has had a very popular and successful Nippers programme for many years. The Long Reef Nippers Programme is open to all children aged 6 to 14. It is managed by experienced parents whose own kids are often participating in Nippers or Cadets. Nippers is a great, fun way to engage young children with beach life and the surf, teaching them how to enjoy the ocean safely. It also teaches children about competing in a friendly way and how to be a good sport. If you would like to apply to become a Nipper Member or if you would like to renew your membership, please click on the "Join Long Reef" link in the main menu. We now accept online applications and payment for new and renewing members!

Key Dates for the 2008 / 2009 season

• Registration 14th & 21st September 10am to 12pm at the Long Reef Club House
• Proficiency swim - Mon 22, Tue 23, Thu 25 September, 5:30pm-6:15pm, Pittwater House School Pool
• Nippers starts 12th October at 9am U8-U13 & 9.30am for U6 - U7's
• Carnival Manly 16th November U8-U13's (U6's & U7's nippers @long reef)
• Carnival Queenscliff 7th December U8-U13's (U6's & U7's nippers @long reef)
• Twilight Nippers then Xmas Party Saturday 20th December 3pm
• Nippers finishes 1st March 2009
• Nippers presentation 7th March 2009 at 4pm
