Down wind ocean racing at its best! Over $80,000 in cash and other prizes including two Fenn Mako ocean skis Charger Spec ski and carbon paddles. All paddlers welcome!
Long Reef SLSC in conjunction with oceanpaddler.com are pleased to announce a new Ocean Paddle Series commencing in season 2009/10 called the "Fenn Cup". The Fenn Cup is an exciting new series that in combination with the very successful SNB Branch Ocean series will take ocean racing in Australia to the next level.
Each race will take place on a Saturday afternoon starting at 3pm to take advantage of the afternoon winds. The races will be held between Fisherman's Beach (Southern end of Collaroy Beach) and the Pittwater side of Palm Beach.
Competitors will also be able to complete in the 'Skoda' Challenge. This race will be specifically designed for newer paddlers to ocean racing, those not wanting to do quite so many kilometres, social paddlers and those paddling plastic boats. This race will commence at 1pm and will be around 8 kilometres in length.

A decision upon the direction of Saturday's race will be announced early on Saturday morning 26th September, 2009. Please check the website for details. The course of the race will be altered to ensure that competitors experience enjoyable down-wind racing. Competitor safety however will not be compromised.
Attention Spec Paddlers -
Because of the large number of SLSA skis getting around in Australia organizers have provided some incentive for those competitors to take part. Through the generosity of Oceanpaddler the first 3 specs across the line in both male and female categories will receive cash vouchers to the value of $500, $300. $200 towards the purchase of an ocean racing craft.
